Nancy Duke, a devoted follower of Christ for more than 70 years, passed away on September 28, 2023, at the age of 87.

Born in Knoxville on September 18, 1936, Nancy led a life filled with love, service and a deep faith in God.

Nancy attended UT Knoxville where she was blessed to meet her beloved husband, Ed Duke. Their love story lasted for 60 beautiful years until Ed’s passing.

Family was at the center of all that Nancy undertook. She devoted her life to them and selflessly served each member with unwavering love and support.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Nancy had a passion for flowers and blooming plants of all kinds.

Nancy derived strength from her faith in Jesus Christ. Her life verse from Philippians 3:20 – “But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ” – guided her through every challenge and served as a reminder to live with an eternal perspective.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Ed Duke; her parents, Garrett and Betty Parker; and her four siblings.

Nancy is survived by her children, Mike Duke (Tammy), Barry Duke (Emily), and Karen Hickman (Tanner); six grandchildren, Brian, Heather, Lance, Laura, Will, and Leah; and nine great-grandchildren.
