OBITUARY: Nancy Carol Hopkins


Nancy Carol Hopkins, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024.

Nancy was born on October 26, 1943 in Sumner County, Tennessee to the late O.R. Meador and the late Angie Shrum Meador.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Meador.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Don Hopkins; her children, Sandy Rogers (Stan), Coby Hopkins (Dawn), and Camille Case (Roger); grandchildren, Lindsey Thigpen (Samuel), Olivia Whittenton (Bryan), Steven Case (Alyssa), Caroline Hardin (Lane), Anna Alexander (Hayden), Ashlyn Case, Lauren Hopkins, and Danicia Lee (Alan); great-grandchildren, Ruth Thigpen, Holland Alexander, Jameson Hardin, Charlie Whittenton, and Archer Case; and her siblings, Jerry Meador (Jean), Larry Meador (Monica), Judy Carter (Rodney), Barbara Moniz, and Geraldine Taylor.

A lifelong resident of Sumner County, Nancy was a graduate of Westmoreland High School where she played half-court girls basketball. She was a strong Christian, a member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville with Pastor Jerry Wooley officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Westmoreland. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 4:00 – 6:00 P.M. and on Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
