Monika Kieffer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated educator, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 6, 2025, in Gallatin, TN. Born on December 7, 1963, in Fayetteville, NC. Monika was sunshine and light, the kind of person whose presence warmed every room and lifted every heart. She was caring, kind, and funny-beauty, inside and out.
Monika was a passionate Para Pro Assistant for Howard Elementary, where she devoted many years fostering the growth and development of her students. Known as “everyone’s cheerleader,” she often attended her students’ sporting events and special occasions long after they had left her classroom, exemplifying her dedication to their success and well-being.
Monika was preceded in death by her parents, James Denney and Lieselotte Denney.
She is survived by her loving husband, James “Jim” Kieffer; her sons, Joshua Kieffer (Jordan) and Matthew Kieffer (Summer); her cherished granddaughter, Eisley Kieffer; her brother, Charles Proffitt; her sister, Kathy Wilson; her nephew, Justin Proffitt; as well as her beloved pets, Cooper and Izzy. Each family member carries forward her legacy of love, kindness, and encouragement.
A celebration of life service to honor Monika’s life and contributions to her community will take place at a later date, which will be announced on our website once known. Friends and family will gather to share their memories and celebrate the remarkable life she led.
Monika Kieffer will be deeply missed by all, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
