Mary Lois Shaw, age 95 of Hendersonville, passed peacefully into God’s eternal care on April 24, 2023 after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She is now forever freed from this horrible disease.
Mary Lois was born on August 2, 1927 in Barren County, Kentucky to the late Berkley Borders and the late Lizzie Osborne Borders.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Rollin R. Shaw; sons, Ricky Shaw (Patti), Scot Shaw (Rebecca), and Joe Shaw (Fiancee’ Lisa Horton-Fowler); grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Dunlap (Darren), Jessica Hammond (Jeff), and Erin Shaw; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Knox, and Ella Claire Dunlap; and sister, Lou Edith Foster.
Mary Lois was a great cook, enjoyed needlepoint and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., May 1, 2023 in the Chapel at First Baptist Church Hendersonville with Pastor Bruce Raley and Pastor Jeff Lake officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, April 30, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville and on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
