Mrs. Mary Lee Dell Shrum VanDerLee, age 90, of Lafayette, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at McKendree Village Assisted Living in Nashville.
Graveside services and interment for Mary VanDerLee are scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 2 PM, from The Macon County Memorial Gardens, with Steve Kirby officiating.
Visitation begins at the funeral home on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 12 noon until 1:30 PM.
Family suggests donations be made towards the St. Johns Cemetery in Willow Grove, TN or St. Jude’s.
She is preceded in death by both of her husbands, Charles Henry Shrum and Rudolf Peter VanDerLee; grandson, Charles Kim “Chad” Shrum II; parents, James Claude Thrasher and Eva Della Sherrell Thrasher; sisters, Dessie Mae Lowhorn, and Lauvell Morgan; and brother, J.D. Thrasher.
Mary VanDerLee is survived by:
- Sons, Michael C. Shrum and wife, Beverly; Charles Kim Shrum; Barry Neil Shrum and wife, Dawn;
- Grandchildren, Tiffany Thompson; Kariann Rice; Wes Mayberry; Brentyn Shrum;
- Great-Grandchildren, Killian Rice; Elijah Rice; Ezra Rice;
- Sister, Joyce King;
- Several nieces and nephews also survive.
