Mary Hamblen, age 92 of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024.
Mrs. Hamblen was born on April 17, 1932 in Lebanon to the late Edgar Poe Carney and Katy Mai Riggan Carney.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Bob Richard Hamblen; and brother, James Carney.
She is survived by daughter, Sherry Fulkerson (Randy) of Gallatin; son, Keith Hamblen (Lisa) of Portland; brother, Thomas Carney (Sherry) of Lebanon; sister, Helen Bailey of Lebanon; close friends, Barry Draper (Delores) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Mandy Hamblen, Katherine Fulkerson (Chris), Alysa Hibbard (Chad Wiser), Ben Fulkerson (Allison), Colby Parks (Hollie); great grandchildren, Isabella Rose Hibbard, Charlotte Hibbard, Mallory Hibbard, Langon Wiser, Kira Noble, Kolby Noble, Rosalee Fulkerson, Benson Rhett Fulkerson, Eleanor Parks, and Maverick Parks.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gallatin. Mrs. Hamblen worked at Gallatin High School for many years as a CDC Assistant. She was an avid golfer and loved fishing with her husband and family. Mary enjoyed gardening. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joys of her life.
Funeral Service will be Monday, September 16th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Rev. Steven Lee and Bob Snell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 15th from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Monday, September 16th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Leeville Cemetery.
