Mary Elizabeth Davidson of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the age of 91.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert E. Davidson, and her parents, Henry Alston Morton and Irene Elizabeth Morton.

Mary is survived by her children: Mark E. Davidson (Mary Helen), Susan D. Smith (Rodney), Steven M. Davidson (Pamela), and Nancy D. Henninger (Stuart), grandchildren; Michael (Samantha), Jeffery (Ann), Kara, Bryan (Dana), Daniel (Heather), Caleb (Michal), Nicholas (Ariel), Andrew, Amanda (Ethan), Samuel, Jacob, and Joshua; great-grandchildren; Chloe, Paige, Taylor, Hazel, Audrey, Ruby, Hannah, Eliza, Naomi, and Ethan.

Mary was born on April 10, 1931, in Acushnet, Massachusetts. Mary attended Oklahoma City University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Education. Mary and Robert were long time members of the First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville where she did mission work and was involved in the Companion Sunday School Class and United Methodist Church Women.

Mary enjoyed traveling abroad to the Holy Land, Italy and other destinations, as well as traveling to National Parks throughout the United States. Mary was an avid baker and was well known for her wonderful cinnamon rolls. Mary was also an accomplished seamstress and quilter. In her later years, she really enjoyed reading about US history and putting together puzzles.

Family and friends were very important to Mary. Her family describes her as a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved gatherings with family and friends and generously donated her time to church activities.

A service will be held for Mary at the Hendersonville Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6th at 2:00 PM. Visitation for family and friends will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, September 6th. Hendersonville Funeral Home is located at 353 E. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mary’s name can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville General Fund.
