Mark Steven Tallent, 63, a resident of Hendersonville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 10, 2021.
He was born, January 1, 1958 to Norman Ray and Lillie Mae (Purdom) Tallent. In 1976, he graduated from Grover Cleveland High School (St. Louis, MO). He received his BA from Free Will Baptist Bible College (now Welch College, Gallatin, TN) in 1981 and MEd Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University (Nashville, TN) in 1985.
Mark was the Firm Administrator at Farrar & Bates Law Offices (Brentwood, TN). Since 2007, he was a member of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA). He served as treasurer, vice president, and president of the Middle Tennessee Association of Legal Administrators. In 2020, Mark was awarded the Outstanding Association Volunteer Award for ALA.
A devoted father, doting grandfather, and a loving brother and friend, Mark was undeniably committed and faithful to many. He was generous and kind with a welcoming smile and a vibrant spirit and had the most wonderful sense of humor. He easily found fun wherever he was. Mark was a Christian and a patriot, loving God, his country, and the U.S. military. And unquestionably, he was the #1 fan of the Nashville Predators Hockey Team.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Lillie Tallent, sister-in-law Kay Tallent, and niece-in-law Brandi Minnie Tallent. He is survived by two daughters and their spouses, Amanda Bailey (Loren) Nashville, TN, Amy Simpson (Brian) Goodlettsville, TN; a son Adam Tallent (fiancée Morgan) Antioch, TN; and adored grandchildren: Theona, Kaden, Paxton, Brian, Natalie, Lorelei, and anticipated January 31, 2022 arrival of little Charlotte Ruth; one sister Charolette Tallent (Nashville, TN), two brothers Keith and Alice Tallent (Dodge City, KS), Kent Tallent (Dardanelle, AR); three nieces and three nephews, and five great-nieces and three great-nephews.
The funeral will be held at 1 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at The Donelson Fellowship, 3210 McGavock Pk Nashville, TN Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 E Main St, Hendersonville, TN at 4 PM to 8 on Monday, September 13, 2021. Burial will be at the Hendersonville Memory Garden. Pallbearers will be Loren Bailey, Brian Simpson, Adam Tallent, Keith Tallent, Joshua Tallent, Ron Thompson, and honorary pallbearer Kent Tallent.
