“Marj” Marjorie Ann Deason, aged 66, passed away peacefully on January 15th, at home surrounded by family.
She was born on August 14, 1958, in Sioux City, Iowa to Robert Owen Avant and Jeannine Marie Avant. She was a proud resident of Hendersonville and was a 1976 graduate of Hendersonville High School.
She married Steven Michael Deason on May 21, 1982, at the historic Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Together they built their dream home on a special piece of land that was part of her family for generations. Marj enjoyed nothing more than time on the porch watching the deer and the birds. She blessed us all with the many beautiful sunrise and sunset pictures she took and posted from that porch view. It was her happy place.
Marj loved traveling with Mike, as long as there was golden beach and blue ocean to enjoy. She loved nothing more than a good all-inclusive resort in which she could truly relax, or a rented house on the Gulf packed full with her family. Her joy was her family, especially her grandsons. She and Mike were always willing to make the trek towards Huntsville to pick up Bennett and Drake for fun and play at their home.
She is survived by her beloved husband Mike, son Dustin Michael Deason and his wife Amanda, and her grandsons Bennett James Deason and Drake Thomas Deason. Also her sister Deborah Green Sutherland and brother Robert Charles Avant.
Marj will be celebrated at Community Church of Hendersonville on Monday, January 20, 2025. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00, followed by a remembrance service at 2:00pm.
