Lovie Bourne, age 74, residing in Lebanon TN since 2016, passed away on February 7, 2026. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Scott Moore, is Thursday, February 12, 2026, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the service at 6 p.m.
Lovie D. Bourne was born in Widen, West Virginia. She was raised by her mother Georgetta Davis and built a very good life. She was an avid reader and always kept books throughout the home. She received her Bachelors from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield CT. Lovie met and married Frederick Bourne and together they achieved more than they could have dreamed. She retired as Assistant Commissioner of Department of Children and Families in Connecticut. Lovie and Frederick moved to Tennessee as a home base during their retirement. Both her and her husband enjoyed skiing, riding snow-mobiles, traveling, and of course, shopping. Lovie was able to pursue her all-time favorite hobby, reading, in as long and luxurious a warm bath as she desired.
Mrs. Bourne is survived by her friend, partner, supporter, and husband of 56 years, Fred Bourne, and daughter Lisa Bourne. She is preceded in death by her mother Georgia Davis, and sister Cynthia Davis of Baltimore.
