Linda Johnson Dewey, age 74, passed away peacefully at her home in Gallatin, TN surrounded by her family on November 21, 2022.
She was born May 5, 1948 in Wilmington, DE to the late Arvid and Elizabeth Johnson.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Wayne and their children Christopher (Brooke) Dewey, Brittney Dewey, and Michael (Elizabeth) Dewey.
She was known to many as Linny, but the greatest name she cherished was being called “Marmi” by her six grandchildren Cole, Ava, and Jack Dewey of Atlanta, GA and Joselyn, James Wayne, and Hannah Dewey of Hendersonville, TN.
She is also survived by many sisters, brothers, extended family members and close friend.
For 74 years, Linny lived life to the fullest. She was a wife for 52 years, called mom for 47 years, worked as a teacher for 32 years, and for the last 16 years, she was “Marmi” to 6 wonderful grandchildren who she loved to the moon and back. She was so proud of all their accomplishments and relished in celebrating every milestone of their life.
Linny had a passion for traveling, especially with her family. Her happy place was anywhere on a beach. She traveled to 49 states, Mexico, Caribbean, Sweden, London, and Bora Bora.
Linny had a strong faith in God and it played a pivotal role in her journey through life. She knew that faith, not fear, were in charge. She is by far the strongest wife, mom, and grandmother. She was a fighter, a warrior, and now an angel above. She showered us with unconditional love and support throughout our lives. She will forever be in our hearts and left many memories to cherish for a lifetime. We love you!
