Linda Gail Fritz, 77, was born in Portland, Tennessee on July 13, 1949 to Paul & Alta (Bandy) Dunning. She passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026 at home in rural Tipton County surrounded by her loving family. Gail married Kenny J. Fritz on March 7, 1969 and they celebrated 57 years of marriage. She had lived in Kokomo from 1971-83 and in Sheridan from 1983-98.
Gail graduated from Kokomo High School in the Class of 1968. She served as a Deputy Clerk in Hamilton County for 28 years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and tending to her flowers.
She loved to garden and can her vegetables to enjoy all year. She spent many happy hours under shade trees snapping beans. Gardening and canning was just part of how she cared for her family. She was always very excited to plan family gatherings and had fun games planned and surprises for everyone.
Gail was an excellent croquet player and this was one game that she would not let anyone else win! She was a great supporter of her children’s activities. Sporting events, extra curriculars, plays, end-of-year concerts and award programs – you could always find Gail in the crowd.
Survivors besides her husband Ken include two children, Shannon Mazurek of Burlington and Kent Fritz and wife Stephanie of Kempton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Zoe Mazurek (Cameron) and their children Dalton & Levi; Ezra Mazurek; Zane Mazurek; Ryan Burns (Abby) and their children Sawyer and RaeLynn; Tyler Burns and wife Hannah and their son Beckham and Jagger Busenbarrick.
Gail’s funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20 at Young-Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Brown presiding. Burial will follow in Kempton Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Monday.
