Linda Arlene Simms, age 81, of Portland, passed away on July 9th, 2026 at Signature Healthcare in Portland. Mrs. Simms was born in Portland, TN on September 3rd, 1944 to the late Tommy Poole & the late Pearl White Poole.
Linda was a child of 12, she had three brothers and eight sisters. Linda was a lifelong resident of Portland where she was a stay-at-home wife & mother for many years until she had to work outside the home doing factory work & would retire from Western Plastics. Linda was a member of Portland General Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simms was preceded in death by her husband, of 47 years Billy “Bob” Jeff Simms; brothers, Doug, Talmadge, & Tom; sisters, Paulene, Geraldine, Mildred, Mary, Helen, & Dot; grandson, Adam Simms.
Linda is survived by her three sons, Mike (Teresa) Simms of Franklin, KY, Jeff Simms of Franklin, KY, & Brian (Beverly) Simms of Enterprise, AL; special daughter, Kaleena Moore of Portland, TN; six grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Pam Crawford of Portland & Sue Meadows of Portland; lifelong friend, Patricia Mooneyhan; several nieces and nephews.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Funeral service for Mrs. Simms will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 13th, 2026 at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. David Harper officiating.
Visitation for Mrs. Simms will be on Sunday, July 12th, 2026 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm & on Monday, July 13th, 2026 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home.
Mike Simms, Jeff Simms, Kaleena Moore, Taylor Simms, Brandon Simms, & Blake Simms will serve as pallbearers; Brian Simms will serve as a honorary pallbearer.
