Lena Ruth Knowles Ferguson left for her Heavenly home on May 3, 2023 with her family by her bedside.
She was born February 12, 1930 to Carl and Leafie Knowles in Portland, Tn.
She had a beautiful heart as well as true beauty. She always was working for her family. That was her life. She was a talented cook, seamstress and all- around problem solver.
Along with her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 63 years, David Ferguson; daughter, Nancy Ferguson; sister, Sara Empson; brother, Charles Knowles.
To cherish her memory she leaves daughter, Debra Witt; sons, Larry and Stanley Ferguson all of Portland. She leaves her loving grandchildren, Stephanie Paris of Bowling Green, OH, Jordan Ferguson of Knoxville, TN and Isabella Ferguson of Gallatin, TN. She adored her great-granddaughter, Patton van der Merwe. She also is survived by her sister, Carleen Fowlkes of Portland and 2 sisters-in-law, Frances Green and Patsy Ferguson both of Portland, TN., along with many nieces and nephews and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. service time at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home with Stacey Tucker officiating. https://www.wilkinsonwiseman.com
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Knowles, Jr., Burt Empson, Jordan Ferguson, Farris Stewart, Phil Roark and Derek van der Merwe.
