Kenneth “Ken” William Hirth, age 74 of Gallatin, TN, passed away October 25, 2021.

Ken was born November 23, 1946 in Pittsburg, PA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William Martin and Catherine Ober Hirth.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Jeanie Eddins Hirth of Gallatin, TN; son, Tyler Hirth (Andrea); grandchildren, Hudson and Harper Hirth of Hendersonville, TN; sister, Susan Colton (Mike) of Butler, PA.

Ken served in the U. S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a teacher for 43 years with the Sumner County Board of Education spending the most of his career at Vena Stuart Elementary School. Ken started the first Jump Rope for Heart Demonstration Jump Rope Team in the state of Tennessee. The team traveled Tennessee promoting heart health which was a passion for Ken. Also, he was a part-time barber for 44 years at Partain’s Hair Design. He was an avid Lionel Train collector and loved playing the drums. He was a member of Long Hollow Baptist Church. Ken will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and doting “Poppa” to Hudson and Harper.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Greg McCoy and Rev. Malcolm Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Lebanon, TN with military honors. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 26th from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, October 27th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
