Juanita Genelle Jordan, affectionately known as Nita, passed away on January 28, 2025.
Nita was born on May 12, 1938 in Hendersonville, Tennessee to the late Hurley and Willie Gourley.
A longtime resident of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Nita enriched the lives of many with her warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family.
Nita’s educational journey began at Hendersonville High School, followed by her time at Vol State Community College.
Throughout her life, Nita embraced her hobbies with great passion. She was known for her exceptional quilting skills and enjoyed the serene activity of fishing, where she often found moments of solitude and reflection.
Nita leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever. She is survived by her devoted sons, Dr. Jeffrey Scott Jordan (Paula) and Dr. Jason S. Jordan (Anita). Her legacy will continue through her grandchildren—Sarah, Sydney, Abigail, Madeline, MaKayla, Ian, and Molly.
Nita is also survived by her siblings, Ronnie Gourley (Klaudene), Gene Gourley (Mindy), and Diana Mundy. They will remember her cherished presence and the bond they shared.
A graveside service to honor the life of Juanita Genelle Jordan will be held on February 1, 2025, at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery, located at 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN, with the service beginning at 4:00 PM. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Hope Baptist Church in Nita Jordan’s honor.
