Mr. Jones Blackburn Hamlett of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, he was 97 years old.

He was born December 17, 1924, in Pulaski, TN to the late Miller Ivo and Eva Duella Hamlett.

Along with Jones’s parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Martha Hamlett; son, Don Hamlett; brothers, James Hamlett, Dwayne Hamlett, and Edward Hamlett.

Jones is survived by daughter, Dianne Graham, sons, David (Cindy) Hamlett and Darrell (Sheri) Hamlett; grandchildren, Josh Hamlett, Kyle Hamlett, Lindsey Hamlett Eaton, and Austin Hamlett; great-grandsons, Donavon Hamlett, Max Hamlett, and Wyatt Eaton; daughter-in-law, Nancy Glover (Charlie).

Jones worked for Life of Georgia Insurance for 40 years. He was a man of many talents and trades. He loved to sing and garden. He loved to golf and volunteer as a clown for Shriners Children Hospital. He was a member of First Baptist Gallatin on Main, King Solomon Masonic Lodge #6, and Eastern Star. He was active in American Legion Post 17 and many times drove Veterans to the VA Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was also a WWII Navy Soldier.

Jones was influential to all that knew him. He loved and was loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 23rd at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Reverend Mike Corbin and Reverend Travis Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens with Mike Hamlett, David Mark Hamlett, Austin Hamlett, Kyle Hamlett, Donavon Hamlett, and Josh Hamlett serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 22nd from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm and Wednesday, March 23rd from 12:00 pm until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110.
