John W. Carter, age 81, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2023.
Born in, Hendersonville, Tennessee, he moved to Leesburg in 2016, from Gallatin, TN.
He was a home builder owning his own company. John was a member of the Grace Point Church of Gallatin, TN. John was an avid golfer, fisherman, hunter and all around outdoorsman.
He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed watching sports and cheering on his Tennessee Volunteers. John raised Tennessee Walking Horses and was a member of the TN Walking Horse Association.
John is predeceased by his Wife, Willie Carter; Brother, Donald Carter.
He is survived by his Wife, Gloria Carter of Leesburg, FL; Daughter, Pam White of Bradenton, FL; Son, Steven Carter of Eustis, FL; Daughter, Denise Tuttle of Gallatin, TN; Son, John W. Carter, Jr. of Gallatin, TN; Brother, Edward Carter of Gallatin, TN, Sister, Millie Carter of Gallatin, TN; 7 Grandchildren – Derek Tisdale, Amanda Rodriquez, Brandon Carter, Lindsey Tuttle, Joshua Carter, Zach Carter and Ethan Carter; Numerous Great Grandchildren, Extended Family and Friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Carter; mother, Lillian Carter; and the mother of his children and wife of 48 years, Willie Carter.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at City Gate Church, 734 Red River Road, Gallatin, TN 37066 on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
Memorial donations may be made to the Tennessee Wildlife Federation, 300 Orlando Ave, Nashville, TN 37209 or you may plant a tree in John’s Memory.
