John R “Buddy” Parker, Jr., age 79 of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Mr. Parker was born May 8, 1945 in Nashville to the late John R Parker, Sr. and Maggie Durham Parker.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Clarice Talley.

He is survived by wife of 23 years, Connie Fuqua Parker of Gallatin; children, Carla Spurlock (Tim) of Cottontown, Amy Corcoran (Michael) of Hendersonville, John R Parker III (Lauren) of Gallatin, Mickie Merryman (Richard) of Gallatin, Kelli Hammock of Harrison, TN, and Harry Allen Hammock (Alicia) of Gallatin; sister, Bobbie Stephens (Kenneth) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Amber-Lyn Harris (Andy), Niq Spurlock, Courtney Corcoran, Brittney Corcoran, Allayney Corcoran, Olivia Parker, Easton Parker, Brooklyn Parker, Riley Parker, Cade Merryman, and Reese Merryman; and great-grandchild, Adalyn Harris.

Mr. Parker served our country in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from the Gallatin Fire Department after 45 years of service.

Funeral Service will be Friday, October 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Visitation will be Thursday, October 24th from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Friday, October 25th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow at Crestview Memory Gardens, with members of the Gallatin Fire Department serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the charity of your choice.
