Joan Ballis McKinzie, 88, of Gallatin, Tennessee, sadly passed away on December 19, 2024.
She was born on August 24, 1936, in East Lansing, Michigan, to the late Arthur Pouder and Emma Louise Gasser. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Nick, Bill, and George; sister, Martha; two sons in law, Doug and Leon; and her stepfather, Fritz.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Glenda and Mary Alice; sons, Steve and Doug; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters, Marie and Patricia.
Joan was a hard-working mother and grandmother who was always there for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing dominoes and having potlucks with her friends. She was always active in her community and helped her neighbors in any way that she could.
She enjoyed traveling around the states and cruising the Caribbean with her sisters. She was an avid reader. There was never a chance you were going to see her without her books next to her. She never met a stranger and was always ready to welcome them with open arms.
She met the Lord 24 years ago on a trip with the church group. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
