Jimmie Thomas Douglas, age 76, of Westmoreland, TN, passed away February 20, 2026. He was born March 29, 1949 to the late Warner Douglas and Gladys Evelyn Perdue Douglas in Franklin, KY.

Mr. Douglas was a Nuclear Engineer, upon his graduation from Tennessee Tech University in 1971. After graduation he designed and inspected sprinkler systems. After moving to Evansville, IN, he became an award-winning sales engineer selling polyethylene pipe. He then moved to Indianapolis where he sold industrial size plastic containers. After he moved to Tennessee, he worked for Toyo selling factory machines. After retiring, Jimmie did some substitute teaching and was able to spend time on his favorite pastime, woodworking.

He is survived by his loving wife, Terrianna Douglas; his children, Chris Douglas (Rebeca Rubi) of Austin, TX, Troy (Shelia) VanFleet of Savannah, TN, and Leeanna (Benji) Copeland of Gallatin, TN; He is also survived by his five grandchildren, TJ (Andrea) VanFleet, Tyler (Shelby) VanFleet, Courtney (Jason) Patterson, Chance (Emily) Copeland and Conner Copeland; his six great-grandchildren, Trey, Case and Beau VanFleet, Malynn VanFleet and Levi and Annalyn Patterson; and his is sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Martin) Pierce; his nephew, Drew; his brother and sister-in-law, Benida (Mike) Kernodle; as well as a large extended family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife’s parents, Seymour and Dorothy Mayes; and his great-grandson, Whitt VanFleet.

Funeral services for Mr. Douglas will be conducted on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 2 PM from the chapel of Woodard Funeral Home with Troy VanFleet and Bro. Terrance Davis officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 from 2 PM till 7 PM and again on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 from 11 AM till service time at 2 PM at Woodard Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family request you make donations to the Second Harvest Food Bank at Woodard Funeral Home.
