Jerry Leon Smallwood, age 81 of Gallatin, TN, passed away November 19, 2023.
Jerry was born November 5, 1942 in Gallatin, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elsie Smallwood and an infant son, Danny Wayne Smallwood.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maudie Coleman Smallwood; son, Michael “Mike” Kelley Smallwood; cousin that he considered to be a brother, Herbert Michael “Mike” Smallwood; niece, Phyllis Johnson (Steve) and very close friends, Leroy Scruggs (Betty) and Rick Perry.
Jerry retired from Peterbilt Motors after 40 years of employment. He enjoyed yardwork, wood crafting, attending old car shows and fishing. Jerry was an avid UT Vols football fan and loved watching the games with his son, Mike. Jerry’s favorite singer was Elvis Presley.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 28th from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Rev. John Penfield officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for his care to the staff, nurses and Dr. Kevin Childers of High Point Hospice, nursing staff of Sumner Regional Medical Center and the nurses and Dr. Stephen Bennett at Living Well.
