Janie M. Smith, age 72, of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Nashville, TN.
Janie was born in Robertson Co. TN. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lorene Duer Moss.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Jim Smith; sons Kerry Allen and Matthew Smith (Heather); daughters Cindy Smith (Cindy) and Cathy Troutt (Tony); brother Donnie Moss (Sandra); grandchildren Owen Smith, Daniel Allen, Ashley Gatlin (Dillon), Mary Martin (Seth), Andrew Troutt, Carter Smith, Walker Smith, and Lila Clare Smith; six great-grandchildren. Janie was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ronnie Moss, Gayle Moss, and Joyce Reid; daughter-in-law Kristi Allen.
Services to celebrate Janie’s life will be held at 2 pm on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. The family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 12 pm -1:45 pm to the start of the service at 2 pm.
Janie was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and a member of the Tollet and Clark Sunday school class. She was owner of Smith Office Products along with her husband Jim for more than 20 years.
In Lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society and Alive Hospice.
