Mr. James Michael Moore “Coach” of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022, he was 86 years old.

James was born on September 13, 1935, in Chicago, Illinois.

He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps as a Field Artillery Batteryman. James was a teacher for 42 years with most of his career spent at Hawkins Middle School. He was not only a teacher in the classroom but also as a football and basketball coach. James loved sports and was an avid Green Bay Packers, Chicago White Sox, and Tennessee Volunteers fan.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding his bike. He loved to travel with the Mackinac Bridge being a favorite destination. James was very organized, both in his professional career and his personal life. He was a man of God and a leader with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. James was a devoted dad who never missed a sporting event or important date and will be dearly missed by his family and by all that knew him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Harold Vincent Moore and Catherine Baier Moore.

Survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Debbie, sons, Cody Moore (fiancé Tisha Curry), Danny Moore, daughters, Kerry Benson (Bobby), Sherry Allen (Danny), stepsons, Trey O’Donohoe and Troy O’Donohoe, stepdaughter, Kristen Rogers (Joe) and devoted friend, Steve Briggs. James is also survived by his grandchildren, Lindsay Justice, Joshua Bravo, Leslie Leiter, Colton Allen, Sheridan Allen, Jennifer Duncan, Madison O’Donohoe, Rob O’Donohoe, Caedon O’Donohoe, Ava O’Donohoe, and Tommy Rogers, along with numerous great-grandchildren and extended family and friends.

A celebration gathering will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM with Military Honors at 4:00 PM. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
