James Alton Davis, 81 of Portland, Tn., passed Saturday, February 15, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Davis was born July 17, 1943 to the late Fred Alton Davis and Mary Ellen Denning Davis in Portland, Tn. Along with his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Jean Davis; siblings, Mildred Wix, Hazel Davis, Lee Davis, Fred Davis, Jr., and Donald Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Gail Gentry; daughter, Devita Simpson; grandson, Shane Simpson; great grandson, Hunter Simpson; sister, Ann Story (William); niece, Brenda Browning; and his dogs, Bella and Mia along with his cat, Ollie.
Funeral service for Mr. Davis will be on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 1 p.m. with Ken Cowan officiating, with visitation on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Following the service interment will be on Old Brush Cemetery.
