J.B. Jones, of Lafayette, Tennessee, was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and skilled plumber and electrician, who passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Lafayette, to Jessie and Bessie Jones on June 21, 1933, J.B. married Dixie Lucille Perrigo in 1952. J.B. dedicated his life to his family and his work. A respected member of the community, J.B. worked for over six decades for the citizens of Macon County as a plumber and electrician.
From his humble upbringing, J.B. was known for his hard work, reliability, and integrity. Whether wiring a new home or business, installing a water heater or switch box, or performing service calls for everyone in the community for miles around, he always brought care to the job and the people he served.
Outside of his profession, J.B. dearly loved his family. He is survived by the wife he cherished, Lucille; his beloved son, Steve; the two grandsons he adored, Hunter and Brent, as well as his granddaughter-in-law, Kathy. He is also survived by his brother, Bill Jones and family, and sister, Juanita Jones Barnfield and family.
His love, wit, and spirit will be deeply missed, but forever remembered.
Funeral Services for J.B. Jones are scheduled to be conducted on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 11 AM, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Brother Brad Whittemore officiating. Interment will follow in The Macon County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Monday, June 9, 2025, from 11 AM until 8 PM and on Tuesday from 8 AM until service time at 11 AM.
