Homer Allen Carter was born May 3, 1938. He went to be with Jesus on February 7, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Homer’s mechanical workmanship was known all over Gallatin. Having earned a Master Technician’s Award, he quickly built a business. He had a unique ability to drive a vehicle and listen to its engine to determine a diagnosis. He always trusted people when credit was needed. Integrity was his way of life. He tried to see the good in others, never refusing a job if they couldn’t pay that day.
He was an avid hunter of large and small game. He always enjoyed those long trips to Montana and Kansas.
Homer is preceded in death by his mom, Lucy; brothers Willliam, Frizzo; Sisters Ada, Edith.
He’s survived by sisters Mary Ann, Irene, Shirley, Betty, Hilda, several nieces, and nephews.
He was an active member of Gallatin Nazarene Church. His legacy of love, faith, and friendship will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
