Herman Theodore Schroeder, age 89, of Portland, passed away on September 8th, 2024 at NHC Sumner Place in Gallatin, TN.

Mr. Schroeder was born in Cleveland, OH on August 1st, 1935 to the late Elmer Robert Schroeder and the late Lillian Veda (Squires) Schroeder.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Schroeder was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie (Zieske) Schroeder, two brothers: Robert Schroeder, and Charles Schroeder and one sister, Helen DeGeorge.

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his children, Chris (David) Clutter of Portland, TN, Lisa Schroeder of Quinton, VA, & David Schroeder of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Ranae (Heath) Montecalvo, Laura ( Brian) Westerman, Thomas (Amy) Clutter, & Erin Schroeder; and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Schroeder was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Germany during the Korean War. Following his military service, he was a Production Control Manager at True Temper for many years. He was a Key Club member and a member of the Kiwanis Club in Geneva, OH. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek Golf Course in Franklin, KY.

“Mickey” was a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan, an Ohio State fan and a Cleveland Indians fan, even after moving out of state. He raised his children and grandchildren to love these teams as well.
