Henrietta Bryant Hobdy, age 100, of Nashville, TN, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2025, at home with family.
Mrs. Hobdy was born in Epworth, GA on March 31, 1925 to the late Henry H. Bryant and the late Hazel V. Bryant and grew up in Portland, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hobdy was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Dr. Charlie Joe Hobdy; brother, James F. Bryant.
Mrs. Hobdy is survived by her daughters, Joetta Hobdy Wallace of Nashville, TN, Jerrilyn Hobdy (Larry Gershel) of Cape May Point, NJ, Juliann Hobdy (Alex Weiss) of Arlington, TX, & Janelle Hobdy (Neal) Priest of Fairfield Glade, TN; nephew, Ted (Vicki) Bryant of Corbin, KY; Grandchildren: Adam Hobdy Weiss (Miriam Lopez Weiss), Emma Hobdy Weiss (Saagar Patel), Marlee Priest Burke (Zach Burke), Reed Priest (Kayla Priest). Great Grandchildren: Rebecca Lopez Weiss, Benjamin Lopez Weiss, Maximiliano Lopez Weiss, Braxton Burke, Micah Burke, Judah Burke.
Mrs. Hobdy graduated from George Peabody College where she served as Assistant to the Dean. Upon graduation she taught Business Administration at Norris Dam, Rocky Top, TN. She supported her husband, Dr. Hobdy, through medical school, residency & private practice – even managing his office. She was a homemaker and raised four daughters. She was a gourmet cook and an active member at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin, TN.
Funeral service for Mrs. Hobdy will be at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 15th, 2025 at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Joetta Hobdy Wallace, Jerrilyn Hobdy, Juliann Hobdy, & Janelle Hobdy Priest officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Hobdy will be on Sunday, June 15th, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
