Hayward “Mack” Covington, age 83 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023.
Mr. Covington was born April 11, 1940 in Marks, MS to the late Hayward H. Covington I and Grace Nobles Covington.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Grace Campbell; and granddaughter, Kristi Breland.
He is survived by wife of 39 years, Faye Brimm Covington of Gallatin; children, Melinda Breland (David) of Natchez, MS, William “Bill” Covington (Sharon) of Castalian Springs, Carolyn Murphy (David) of Cottontown, and Haywood H. “Hank” Covington, Jr. of Castalian Springs; step-son, Ronnie Darnell (Tammy) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Grace Covington, Amanda Breland, Ashley Johnson, Alicia Darnell, Zachary Darnell, Allison Darnell (Cody), Amber Darnell, and Joshua Darnell; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Covington worked for Ace Hardware for over 20 years. He then worked at the Sumner County Court House as a security officer for over 10 years and was a courier at the Circuit Court Clerks Office for many years.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Free Indeed Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Free Indeed Fellowship, 825 South Water Avenue #A, Gallatin, TN 37066.
