Harold Thomas Searcy, passed away peacefully in the home he built, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born to Thomas Henry Searcy (“Jack”) and Lela Estelle Crafton (“Stella”) in Cottontown, Tennessee, on October 1, 1935.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Searcy; his parents, Thomas Henry Searcy and Lela Estelle (Crafton) Whitaker; and his siblings: Larry Wayne Searcy, Sandra Whitfield, Laura Mae Walker, Joe Searcy, Albert Searcy, and Billy Searcy.
Harold is survived by his children, June (Greg) Ballard and Susie (Rocky) Escue; his siblings, Charlotte Craighead, Donna Ham, Glenda Phillips, and Randy Searcy; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Evan (Beth) Ballard and their children, Bridget and Brooke Ballard; Andy (Sheryl) Escue and their children, Bradley and Brody Escue; Lacey Ballard and her son, Noah Ballard; Becky (Evan) Sharbrough and their children, Owen and Wells Sharbrough; & Carly Escue and her children, Rocco and Abby June Enriquez.
Harold was also survived by many special and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
He was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in all he did. He found joy in helping others, fishing, tending to his cows, admiring classic cars and farm machinery, and, most of all, spending time with his family.
Funeral service for Mr. Searcy will be at 12:00 pm on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Evan Ballard & Andy Escue officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Searcy will be on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm and Friday, January 17th, 2025 from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home. There will be a masonic service at 5:00 pm for Mr. Searcy on Thursday, January 16th, 2025.
Interment will be in Searcy Cemetery in Portland, TN.
Andy Escue, Evan Ballard, Bradley Escue, Johnny Russell, Randy Searcy, & Evan Sharbrough will serve as pallbearers. Brody Escue & Noah Ballard will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to support the maintenance of the Searcy Cemetery. This privately maintained cemetery is the resting place of generations of loved ones, with gravesites dating back many years. Your contributions will help preserve this special space for future generations.
