Born on Thursday, December 28th, 1939, in Cannon County, Tennessee, the beloved daughter of the late Fred and Georgena Adams. She was raised in the Bradyville community, where her family’s roots ran deep. Growing up, she worked in Woodbury for her grandfather’s medical clinic, Dr. Adams. Georgena graduated from Cannon County High School and went on to continue her education, receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Thomas Nursing School in Nashville, becoming a Registered Nurse.
Mr. and Mrs. Wade owned and operated two trucking companies from 1984 – 2012: Wade Cartage and Tennessee Trucking Express. Beyond her professional life, she was a longstanding member of Lambuth United Methodist Church in Gallatin and was heavily involved in her church. She also worked the Mother’s Day Out Service at First United Methodist Church in Gallatin from 1974 – 1984, caring for many children throughout her 10 years of service.
Her family was her greatest joy and she was a cherished and respected wife, mother, and “Gigi / GG”. Georgena loved her littles and loved her books. She could often be found outside in the yard “digging in the dirt” as she would always say, gardening and planting beautiful roses and various flowers.
Georgena touched many lives with her boundless kindness and unwavering faith. She will be eternally missed, but we rejoice knowing she is in Heaven, reunited with her husband and those that have gone before her.
