George Edwin Hixon, age 89 of Castalian Springs, passed away at home on Monday August 4, 2025. He was born March 21, 1936 in Hammond, IN.
Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday August 9, 2025 at 3 p.m. at Gallatin Church of Christ. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1 p.m. until service time.
He was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Ellen, brothers Jeff, Ronnie, Art, Richie, Marvin, Fred and Lloyd and sisters Phyllis, Beverly and Marilyn.
George is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dianne; brother Kenny; daughters Missy (Bob), Amy (Joe); sons Jim (Lynn), Derek (Andrea); grandchildren Ryan (Michelle), Amanda (Billy), Robby, Abbie (Adan), Tyler, Matt, Evan, and Dylan and great grand-daughters Eloise and Emma.
George loved working on and racing stock cars. He worked as a mechanic and then as a carpenter at Hixon Home Improvement in Indiana. He moved with his family to TN in 1987 when they bought and managed A&L Mobile Home Village. They sold the park in 1999 and retired to Castalian Springs.
George is loved and will be missed by his entire family.
