Fetta Manes Renfro, 89, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., and originally of Siler, Ky., died April 27, 2025, at Alive Hospice. Visitation will be Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. until noon at Spring Hill Funeral Home in Nashville, Tenn., followed by a funeral service conducted by Elder Kenneth Massey.
Fetta was born in Siler, Ky., on March 4, 1936, to Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Manes. She came to Nashville after high school graduation to attend Draughon’s Practical Business College and met her husband, Frank Renfro. They married on April 28, 1957. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2007, after 50 happy years together. In addition to Frank and her parents, Fetta was preceded in death by brothers Junior, Foyster, Hobert, and Lloyd Manes; and sisters Jimmie, Loretta, Persetta, Joie Lee, Jesse Fuson, and Geneva Rhodes.
Fetta is survived by her daughter, Lisa Pyles; granddaughter, Jessica Winn (Nick); and great-grandson, Daniel Winn. She has one surviving brother, Tom Manes (Shirley); two brothers-in-law, R.C. Rhodes and Doris Fuson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
After 33 years of service with Metro Public Schools, she kept in close touch with coworkers-turned-friends through retirement and could be relied upon to ask every person she met where and when they went to school. Finding her students out and about around town always brought a smile to her face.
Nick Winn, Tom Smodic, Gene Brown, Ricky Sanders, Paul Rhodes, and Joe Fuson will serve as pallbearers. The Neely’s Bend Lunch Bunch will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Fetta touched many lives in her 89 years and will be dearly missed by her loved ones. Special thanks to the staff at Alive Hospice who were so loving and caring during her time there.
