Faye Giddings Garrett, age 81 of Gallatin, TN, passed away July 17, 2025. Faye was born on November 1, 1943, in Portland, TN and resided in the Fairfield Community. She was the daughter of the late Ray and Fosteen Giddings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Larry M. Garrett and her infant brother, Kenneth Ray Giddings.
Faye is survived by her daughter, Angie Alexander (Donald), son, Brandon Garrett (April), grandchildren, Lanette Alexander, Garrett Alexander (Laura), Jacob Alexander, Rose Garrett, Luella Garrett and Annabelle Garrett, great grandchildren, Keegan, Troy and Kinsley Woods.
Faye had a strong faith and was saved as a young girl at Fairfield Methodist Church. She was a member of West End Missionary Baptist Church. Faye worked for 20 years as a legal secretary for the law firm of Kelly & Harsh. Faye’s favorite pastime was shopping at Castner Knott. Her favorite place was Ft. Myers Beach, Florida where she and Larry vacationed during the winters. Faye was a devoted wife and mother. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up and also spending time with her cats.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22nd at Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Jerry Boze officiating. Interment will follow in the Sulphur Fork Cemetery with Brandon Garrett, Donald Alexander, Jacob Alexander, Garrett Alexander, Brian White, Jason White and Cread Clifton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Crockett, Johnny Wilson, Danny Greer, Sonny Meiggs and Sonny Garrott.
Visitation will be Monday, July 21st from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sulphur Fork Cemetery Foundation, c/o Paulette Whaley, 2501 Hwy. 52 E., Portland, TN 37148 or Alzheimer’s Association, c/o Charter Senior Living of Gallatin, 1085 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066.
