Eugene C. Branham, Jr., age 97 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Eugene Branham was born October 25, 1925, in Gallatin to the late Eugene C. Branham, Sr. and Sarah Wemyss Branham.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Perkins Branham; son, Andrew C. “Andy” Branham; and brother, James Wemyss Branham.

He is survived by daughters, Louise Pendery (Dave) of Lexington, KY, and Mary Ann Branham Chauvenet (Mike) of Frisco, TX; daughter-in-law Pam Branham: sister-in-law, Annie Lou Perkins of Gallatin; grandchildren, Sarah Pendery, John Pendery, and Anna Chahal (Sumeet); and great-grandchildren, Alya Chahal and Gene Chahal.

Gene attended public school in Gallatin, McCallie School in Chattanooga, and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His education was interrupted by World War II when he entered the Army and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan.

He served as Vice President of Pilot Knot Limestone Co, a rock and ready-mix company started by his family. He was the Managing Partner of Pilot Knob Leasing Co, and in 1950 founded B & C Contracting Co., which he operated until his retirement in 2000.

Gene was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin. He was active in the church serving as Deacon, Elder and Trustee. He also served as a member of the Executive Committee at the Presbytery level and served as a commissioner to the General Assembly.

He was a long-time member of the Gallatin noon Rotary Club, a Friday group known as the Old Geezers and a Thursday night supper club. He was an avid golfer and a founding member of both Blue Grass Yacht & Country Club and The Club at Fairview Plantation.

Funeral Service will be Monday, July 31st at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be Monday, July 31st from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens, with pallbearers Thomas Perkins, Bryson Alexander, Edwin Alexander, John Pendery, Sumeet Chahal and Mike Chauvenet. Honorary pallbearers are John Branham, Matt Branham, his friends at Bluegrass Country Club, Members of the Old Geezers, members of the Noon Rotary Club, and the session of First Presbyterian Church Gallatin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
