Ernest Clay Shrum, age 83 of the Gallatin community, was born on Sunday, October 5th, 1941, to the late Curtis W. and Carrie Owen Shrum, and passed away on Saturday, January 4th, 2025.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Candy Shrum; sisters, Barbara Shrum, Carol Sue Roberts, and Diana Green.
He is survived by son, Charles David Shrum of Gallatin; daughters, Carrie Denise Shivers of Gainesboro, Candy Shrum of Hartsville, and Madison Shrum of Michigan; brother, David W. (Annette) Shrum of Gallatin; sisters, Mickey (Roy) McCullough of Gallatin and Marla (Len) Cooke of Florida; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survive.
The Funeral Service, conducted by Bro. Julius Hovan, will be held on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at 02:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage Funeral Home at Gallatin. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service on Wednesday, January 8th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 02:00 p.m.
