Ollie Elizabeth Rush, age 89, of Hendersonville passed away on Friday, December 24,2021 in Gallatin, TN. Elizabeth was born in Dickson Co. TN. She was the daughter of the late William Wallace and Felecia Edith Porter Alderidge.
She leaves behind a son Jerry Rush (Vickie), daughter Sandra Champion (Hal), Grandsons Jeremy Rush (Jude), Justin Rush, Brian Champion (Jennifer), Angel Walker (Dan’l), great grandchildren Lowen and Luma Rush, Edy Ferrara, Brina and Jaci Champion, Emma, Molly, Elijah, Abram, Katie, and Samuel Walker, and many nephews and nieces.
She was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Raised two kids while we followed our dad in the army. Our journeys included Ft Knox Ky, Baltimore Maryland, Okinawa Japan, and Ft Gordon Georgia. She stood by us when no one else did. She fiercely protected us all with every ounce of strength she had. She had lots of struggles and trials in her life but overcame them to become a strong Christian woman who then stood by our dad when he became a pastor. When dad’s health failed, she took care of him and loved him till the day she died. She helped raise her grandson’s and loved them more than her own life. She also loved her nieces and nephews as though they were her own. She loved all her grandchildren and just loved being around all of her children and grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed but our joy is knowing that she is celebrating with Jesus and is where we want to be. She can’t return to us but we must go to her.
Services to celebrate Elizabeth’s will be held at 2pm on the afternoon of Thursday, December 30,2021 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12pm- 2pm on the afternoon of Thursday, December 30,2021 at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
