OBITUARY: Elizabeth Ann Gregory

Elizabeth Ann Gregory, age 80 of Portland, Tn. Passed away on June 25th, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loves ones. She was born August 5, 1944 in Meridian, Mississippi to the late W.A.(Sheenie) Meadors and Annie Ruth Hobdy Meadors. Along with her parents, Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by her brother, William “Billy” Meadors of Portland, Tn.

Mrs. Ann graduated from Portland High School in 1962. She went to work at Lawnlite where she met her husband, Ralph Gregory, of 57 years. She worked there for 4 years. After Lawnlite, she went to work for The Bank of Portland for 5 years before opening Kountry Korner, a western style shoe and clothing store, with her mother, Annie Ruth. The store ran for 7 years. They closed the business and Mrs. Ann went to work for The Farmers Bank in Portland, Tn. From December 1, 1988 until February 29, 2016. She was a teller manager over all the branches, and also an AVP. She has been retired for the last 9 years.

Mrs. Ann enjoyed riding around and looking at the countryside with her husband, Ralph Gregory. She also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing cards. Mrs. Ann really loved to give and do for others and being the 1st person available at any given notice for her church and her family.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Lee Gregory of Portland, Tn.; their 2 children, Chad Gregory(Renee) of Gallatin, Tn. And Tanya Gregory Link(Bobby II) of Portland, TN.; her 7 grandchildren, Alissa Gregory Rioux, Alex Gregory, Brianna Smith Breeden, Nick Smith, Bobby Link III, Megan Isham and Daniel Mullins; her 11 great grandchildren, Abby Rioux, Bellamy Rioux, Maverick Gregory, McKinley Gregory, Mason Isham, Rhett Isham, Hadley Ann Breeden, Ellie Link, and coming soon, Hudson Chase Smith, Bobby Wayne Link IV and Wesley Dean Link.

Visitation and funeral service for Mrs. Gregory will be held at Mount Pleasant General Baptist church located at 1085 New Deal Potts Rd, Cottontown, Tn. 37048 with Bro Gary Sullivan officiating and Bro. Clifton Thomes reading the eulogy. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 from 10a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday, June 28th, 2025 from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society and/or DSAMT for Down Syndrome. Following the funeral service, interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Portland, Tn.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Gregory, Bobby Link II, Alex Gregory, Nick Smith, Marty Jones and Adam Meadors, with Jean Luc Rioux, Branden Breeden, Larry Ard, Alex Meadors, Harry Mann, Bobby Link III and Mason Isham serving as honorary pallbearers.
