Edward Leon Henson, age 78, of Portland, passed away on August 23rd, 2021 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin, TN.
He was born in Franklin, KY on December 17th, 1942 to the late James Edward Henson & Anna Mae Tucker-Henson.
Mr. Henson is survived by his wife, Paulette Henson of Portland; children, Donna (Andy) Short, Brenda (Danny) Peacock, Jeff (DeAnna) Henson, & Jaska (Kyle) Ward; grandchildren, Dena (Micah) Lashley, Ashley (Nolen) Lanius, Kyle (Jenny) Peacock, Rachel (Cody) Eitel, Lindsey Henson, Kolby & Justin Ward; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Kennedy Joyce, Jack Lashley, Ryder Lanius, Kaleb, and Kaylee Jo Peacock, Ava, Blakelynn and Carter Eitel, Karson Henson; brother, Jackie (Eileen) Henson.
He was a loving and devoted husband for 60 years and a caring and supportive daddy and grandpa. He worked at four different jobs, the longest being at Peterbilt Motors for 32 years. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a deacon at the Portland Church of Christ for 20 years. He did many things at church, behind the scenes that many didn’t know about.
Funeral service for Mr. Henson will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at the Portland Church of Christ with Bro. Rusty Hills & Bro. Shawn Montandon officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Henson will be on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home and on August 26th, 2021 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Portland Church of Christ.
Interment will be in Portland Memorial Gardens.
