Dr. James “Jimmy” Patterson, age 88 of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away on Monday, April 24, 2023.
Dr. Patterson was born on April 26, 1934 in Nashville to the late Oliver Rucker Patterson and Esther Josephine McMahan Patterson.
He is survived by wife of 56 years, Peggy Johnson Patterson of Gallatin; sons, Jimmy Patterson, Jr. (Sara) of Nashville and Jeffrey B. Patterson (Meaghan) of Nashville; and daughter, Cissy Wilkinson (Gregory) of Germantown; and 8 grandchildren, Rucker Wilkinson, Elle Wilkinson, Townes Wilkinson, Taggart B. Patterson, Sage Patterson, Fletcher Patterson, Jimmy Patterson III, and Sophie Patterson.
Dr. Patterson served our country in the United States Air Force. He graduated high school from BGA; attended Vanderbilt University where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and went on to graduate from the dental school at the University of Tennessee.
Dr. Patterson was a dentist in Gallatin for over 40 years and was a member of the American Dental Society, the East Tennessee Academy of Dental Practitioners, and the Nashville Dental Society. He loved golf, travel, time with friends and family, and his dog, Maggie. He was loved dearly by his family and known for his contagious smile, quick wit, and being the life of the party.
Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, May 6th at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Gallatin, with Rev. Mike Magee and Rev. Tim Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, May 6th from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the church.
