Doris Jeanette Hodgin passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022, she was 87 years old.
Doris was born to William Roland Wright and Oveta Kirby Wright on November 6, 1934 in Rutherfordton, North Carolina.
Doris was a 30 year member of the Hendersonville Missionary Church; she loved fishing, reading, going out to dinner, baseball (especially her Houston Astros); but more importantly, she loved her family. Her children were her top priority.
Doris is preceded in death by her parents Roland and Oveta; sons John Wesley Elliott and David Wayne Hodgin; daughter Jeanette Green; and daughter-in-law Brenda Hodgin.
She is survived by her sons Alvin (Sonja) Hodgin and Rodney E. (Ruth) Hodgin; daughter Cathy (Steve) Sessions; daughter-in-law Susan Elliott; sister Grace Yvonne (Jim) Hendeson; sisters-in-law Paula Wright and Doricia Wright; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 from 11 am-1 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Services will begin at 1 pm with David Gregory officiating. Entombment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Mausoleum. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
Active pallbearers will be Rodney Hodgin, Chris Hodgin, Wayne Britton, Fred Britton, Mickey Stewart, and Allen Troutt.
