Dianne Josephine Kearney Long, 78, of Oakland Park, Florida, sadly passed away on February 3, 2025. She was born on November 15, 1946, in Syracuse, New York, to the late Francis and Mildred Burnette Kearney.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Garrett Kearney; and her daughter-in-law, Kimberly Long.

Dianne is survived by her children, John Long, Jr. and Michael (Brian Smith) Long; nephew, Garrett (Renee) Kearney; niece, Colleen (Timothy) Willumson; and a large loving extended family.

Dianne was a graduate of Union Springs Academy. Not long after she graduated in 1965, she became a wife and devoted mother. After her children started school, she began work at Madison Campus Adventist Daycare Center. After 10 years of working at the daycare, she then went to work as an executive assistant to the president of Volunteer State College. While working at the college, she completed her college studies in business. She eventually retired after 20 years.

Later in life, she went on to join the St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Gallatin. Her Catholic faith led her to a formation program with the Dominican Laity. She made her life promises in December of 2005 with the St. Cecilia chapter of Dominican Laity. She was under the patronage of St. Francis and St. Dominic as a Lay Dominican, becoming a prayer member after relocating to Florida. In addition, she served as the household manager for Bishop David Choby from 2006 until 2016.

Throughout her life, her love of music and singing led her to be involved in many choirs and music programs.

In 2019, due to declining health, she relocated to South Florida to be near her sons. In Florida, she blossomed from the love of Brian’s family and the care she received during her time at Wickshire Assisted Living. Dianne will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 27th, 2025, from 4 o’clock until 8 o’clock with a rosary service being at 7 o’clock at Spring Hill Funeral Home. The service will be Friday, February 28th, 2025, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church at 11 o’clock with visitation being an hour prior. After the service, we will be doing a procession to Spring Hill Cemetery where Dianne will be placed to rest.
