Darrell Allen Kirby, age 60, passed away on March 22, 2026. The Funeral service will be held in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 with Mike Madison officiating. Public Visitation will be on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 12:00-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, 2026 from 12:00-7:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow at West Cemetery in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Darrell found his greatest joy in life’s simple but meaningful moments. He loved being out on the water, where he felt at peace and most himself. He also had a deep appreciation for live music, rarely passing up the chance to attend a concert and experience the energy and connection that only a live performance can bring. A passionate sports fan, Darrell enjoyed attending games, cheering from the stands, and sharing in the excitement of each play. These moments reflected his vibrant spirit, his love for togetherness, and his appreciation for the experiences that made life rich.
Darrell is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Kirby and Marquita Kirby-Henry; Brother, Jerry Kirby. Darrell is survived by his son, Connor Kirby of Hendersonville, Tennessee; Grandchild, Ryatt Kirby; Ex-wife, Sondra Brooks of Gallatin, Tennessee; Sister, Teresa Kirby of Cookeville, Tennessee. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Shawn Steward, Jack Billingsley, Kerry Allen, John Benbow, Greg Callis, and Todd Gourley. Special mention of lifelong friend, Scotty Merryman.
