Christopher “Scott” Reece, 73, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home on January 24, 2025.

Scott was born June 6, 1951 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to James A. Reece and Gladys Wright Reece. He was raised in Clarksville, Tennessee and resided in Goodlettsville, Tennessee for over 40 years.

After Scott graduated from Clarksville High School in 1969, he attended North Carolina State University where he received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to earn his master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Purdue University. He was an accomplished Professional Engineer whose expertise sent him around the world many times. When not at work, one could find Scott working with his hands always with a project or two.

Scott married Jan McLaurine on June 3rd, 1978. They enjoyed a beautiful marriage for 46 years which they shared with three children and eight grandchildren. Family was of the utmost importance to him and brought him so much joy taking advantage of every moment with them.

He was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, living each day as a testament to his unwavering faith. He led by example, showing love, kindness, and humility in every aspect of his life. As a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a true friend to many, he touched countless lives with his warmth and generosity. His presence was a blessing to all who knew him, and his legacy of faith and love will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Scott is preceded in death by his father James A. Reece and mother Gladys Wright Reece.

He is survived by his wife Jan Reece of Hendersonville; daughter Lauren Reece White (Robert) of Maryville; son Jim Reece (Jennifer) of Hendersonville; daughter Rachael Reece Heile (Ben) of Salt Lake City; grandchildren Logan Reece, Annalie Reece, Carsyn Reece, Caroline Heile, Catherine Heile, Alex White, Grace Heile, and Andrew White; brothers Dave Reece (CK) of Millington, and Ted Reece (Missy) of Clarksville.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Long Hollow Church, Hendersonville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel at Long Hollow Church. https://www.sumnerfuneral.com
