Carolyn Woodard, age 81, of Gallatin, Tennessee, entered into rest on November 13, 2024, in the comfort of her own home, with her family by her side.
She was born on May 23, 1943, in Gallatin, to her parents Fred and Carrie Autrey. Carolyn was an avid reader, especially mysteries. She also enjoyed writing her own poems and stories. However, Carolyn will be remembered most for how she cared for others. Her compassion extended to both, her love of people and animals.
Carolyn worked as an LPN for over 30 years; she spent most of her nursing career at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Her nurturing nature also led her to be a caretaker for her family as well.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed.
“Carolyn” Carolina Frances (Autrey) Woodard is survived by her son, Mark Woodard; daughter, Darlene Halcomb (Tracy), granddaughters, Bethany Halcomb, Heather Sawyer (Matthew); great-grandson, Oliver Grey Sawyer; and grand puppy, Dazey.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Billy Joe Woodard; father, Fred Autrey; mother, Carrie Marie Copeland; and brother, Charles Copeland.
Visitation will held at Crestview Funeral Home, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, starting at 10:00 A.M., and will continue until time of the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Bro. Chris Rouse will be officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Crestview Memory Gardens.
