Carolyn Hancock Mundy, age 81, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on September 16, 2024.
Preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mundy; parents, John Hampton and Blanche Pitt Hancock; brothers, Johnny Hancock and her twin, Carl Hancock; grandson, Luke Nylen and special friend, Bill Travis.
Carolyn is survived by daughter, Caroline Mundy Nylen; son, James Jason Mundy; granddaughter, Lena Nylen Rigney (Devin) and son-in-law, Anders Nylen. She was eagerly awaiting her first great-granddaughter who is due in October.
She attended Gallatin High School and graduated college from Brenau, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. In 1999 she retired from teaching and enjoyed a very active retirement. She attended First Baptist Church-Gallatin, Perry McArthur’s Sunday School Class. She was the current vice president of the College Women’s Study Club, and volunteered for Gallatin CARES. Carolyn loved traveling, gardening and bridge, but her main love was family and friends.
Graveside Service will be at 11 am Thursday, September 19, at Crestview Memory Gardens with Perry McArthur officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 18, from 4-7 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gallatin CARES, 330 Durham Avenue N. Gallatin, TN 37066.
