Bro. Charles Ray Williams, age 82 of Portland, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024.

Mr. Williams was born on May 3, 1942 in Nashville to the late Turner Tanksley Williams and Imogene Scott Williams.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by ½ brothers, Billy Williams and Gene Williams; and ½ sister, Patsy Russell.

He is survived by wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Ann Roberson Williams of Portland; daughter, Melissa Bush (Alan) of Franklin, KY; and granddaughter, Rachel “Cassie” Bush.

Bro. Williams was a Church of Christ Minister for more than 65 years, serving over 20 years at Hartsville Pike Church of Christ in Gallatin and over 20 years at Nashville Road Church of Christ in Gallatin. In addition, he conducted a free online Bible Study, which continues to be available at biblestudyplus.org. He was an associate professor at Amridge University for many years. Bro. Williams has touched many lives throughout the years.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, December 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Bud Woodall and Bro. Andrew Spivey officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 20th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, December 21st from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Maple Hill Cemetery, with Tim Stickland, Johnny Tucker, Alan Bush, Vernon Woodard, David Johnson, and Tony Butler serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashville Road Church of Christ Youth Fund, 1883 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066, Portland Church of Christ Youth Fund, 200 North Russell Street, Portland, TN 37148, or to Foundation Christian Academy, 2480 Three Springs Road, Bowling Green, KY 42104.
