Bobbie Jo Wiseman Obit

Bobbie Jo Wiseman of Hendersonville, Tennessee went to be with her heavenly father on May 12th, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 19th, 1936, to Forrest and Barbara Crunk of Portland, Tennessee.

She was a graduate of Portland High School in 1955 and attended Middle Tennessee State University. Growing up, Bobbie Jo enjoyed spending her childhood with family and friends. She was a proud Portland Panther cheerleader and basketball player. In 1955, she was named the Portland Strawberry Queen runner-up!

Later in life, she met the love of her life, Jim. They started their married life in Texas where they had their daughter, Laurie, before moving back to middle Tennessee to raise their family, where they had their son, Danny.

Bobbie Jo was an active member of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville, TN since 1964. All who knew her were aware of her steadfast faith and love for her Lord and Savior. She had a wonderful career at UPS, where she specialized in insurance, and made many lifelong friends.

She retired in 1995 and quickly devoted her life to being the best grandmother she could possibly be. She and Jim went near and far to support their three grandchildren in all their activities. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and you could always count on her to be ‘Maw’ to all her grandchildren’s friends as well.

When they weren’t at a ballgame, they also loved traveling throughout the United States and exploring other countries with their friends. Bobbie Jo had a heart of gold and loved serving her community through one of her favorite organizations, Meals on Wheels.

She is preceded in death by her parents Forrest and Barbara Crunk; grandparents Raymond and Lassie Enders; brothers Billy Crunk and Tommy Crunk; and nephew Cary Crunk.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Jim L. Wiseman; her daughter Laurie (Ed) Britton – Knoxville and son Danny (Tracey) Wiseman – Hendersonville. Granddaughter Christina (Alex) Osborne – Knoxville; granddaughter Courtney (Colton) Lee – Nashville; grandson Carter (Ashton) Wiseman – Nashville and great granddaughter Zoey Osborne – Knoxville.

She is also survived by her three sister-in-laws Brookie Crunk – Hermitage, Susan Crunk – Gallatin, & Myrna Minton – Portland; nieces Cathy Crunk – Hermitage; Melissa Crunk – Hermitage and great niece Catherine (Chris) Beisel – Mt. Juliet.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 15th, from 1:00 – 4:00pm at Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN, 37072. Visitation will be held Friday, May 16th, from 12:00-1:00 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home, 715 South Broadway, Portland, TN, 37148 followed by the Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 pm. Burial to follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, 201 North Russell Street, Portland, TN.
