Bob D. Pitts, age 87 of Gallatin, TN passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026. He was born October 6, 1938 in Alger, OH to Affie and Jean Dyer Pitts.
Bob, the only child of Affie and Jean Pitts, graduated from Alger High School and Capital University, both in Ohio. He worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years and spent 12 years working for Volusia County Schools in Florida.
Preceded in death by his parents, Bob is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Carrol Schrader Pitts. He is also survived by six children: Stephanie Pitts Bolin (Greg), Robert Pitts, Carol Pitts, Aaron Pitts (Amanda), Bill Pitts (Patricia), and Todd Pitts. Bob was proud of his 17 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Bob loved to travel and enjoyed high school and college basketball. He was a lifelong Methodist and belonged to the Elks Lodge for more than 45 years. There will be a family gathering in Ohio at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
